Planet Animoto
The purpose of my Animoto is to reinforce information about the planets that students will be learning in their Science class. Although it will be shared with all students, I created it with my special education students in mind. They will be responsible for knowing the names of planets, their order and at least one fact for each by the end of the chapter. For that reason I kept the information brief and reading minimal. The facts listed on the Animoto are options for students to remember. Depending on their skill level, the students will be guided to pick a fact that is in alignment with their reading level and/or ability. The follow up activity will be to list each planet on an index card with the fact and order number on the back. Each student will play the "card game" with their own deck to study for the upcoming assessment.

MaryEllen, what a great job! I absolutely loved it! The students will love it! It is such a great visual! The pictures were amazing. My favorite picture was about poor pluto! Please let us know how the students react.

ReplyDeleteJust had to mention that I used this with a second grade group whose story this week was about a trip to Mars and they thought it was the best! Later the same day I was having a conversation with a first grader who asked me a question about Earth and so I shared the animoto with him as well and he gave it a round of applause after! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMary Ellen, in the Google Doc uploaded version, did you go into File, select Share and select anyone can view? If not, do that, and then get the embed code again, and go back to this post, and paste in the embed code using the html tab.
